Campbell and Milewski Earn CU Athlete of the Week Honors

BOULDER-- Track standout, Ryan Campbell (junior) and tennis standout Monica Milewski (sophomore), were named University of Colorado Athletes of the Week for the week of February 26-March 4. This is the first CU athlete of the week award of the year for both athletes, and the second of Milewski's career.
Campbell, a Littleton, Colo., (Chatfield) native, set a school record in the 200-meter dash as he recorded a mark of 21.02 at the Iowa State Last Chance Qualifier on Saturday, March 3. Campbell took second overall in the event and earned a provisional qualifying mark for nationals this weekend. His time is the 12th best in the nation heading into the weekend. Campbell also took second in the 60-meter dash, with a mark of 6.81 in the finals. In the prelims, Campbell ran 6.86 and 6.83 in the semis. Campbell also becomes the first sprinter to compete for the CU men at nationals since Lex Butler (60-Meter Hurdles) in 2000.
Milewski, an Park Ridge, Ill., (Main South) native, won both of her matches at No. 1 singles to help Colorado to a 1-1 week. CU upset No. 14 Baylor, 5-2 and a lost a close 4-3 decision to BYU. The Buffaloes improved to 3-0 in conference play, their best start ever in Big 12 play. Against BYU, she posted a come-from behind 6-7, 6-3, 6-3 win over Lauren Jones, then followed with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Baylor's Zuzana Cerna. In doubles, she worked with Franziska Jendrian at No. 2 for two more wins. Milewski defeated a pair of senior opponents at singles en route to improving to 8-2 in dual singles play, including 3-0 in the Big 12. In her brief two-year collegiate career, Milewski has won 35 singles and 24 doubles matches. Milewski also earned Women's Big 12 Player of the Week for her performances this past week.

Men's Basketball: Dominique Coleman, Senior, Oakland, Calif.
Coleman averaged a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds helping the Colorado men's basketball team to 1-1 week and breaking a six-game losing streak. Coleman registered his fourth career double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds in CU's 73-69 season finale win over Nebraska. Against the Cornhuskers, he added a team-best five assists and was 6-for-12 from the field in 37 minutes of play. Earlier in the week, Coleman scored a game-high 19 points on 8-for-12 shooting from the field along with nine bounds in the Buffaloes 91-82 loss at Missouri.
Men's Golf: Blake Moore, Senior, Monrovia, Calif.
Moore tied for 11th in the Houston All-American with a 77-72-70-219 scorecard (3-over par), leading CU to a sixth place finish in the team standings. After shooting 5-over par the first 16 holes, he played the final 38 of the tournament 2-under to match his best finish of the season.
Women's Golf: Lindsay Caljouw, Sophomore, Nanaimo, B.C.
Caljouw took second in the San Jose State University Spartan Invite last week. It is her highest collegiate finish, and ties for the best finish of the year for all Colorado golfers.
