“The fact that we only gave up 41 points to a Big 12 team says a lot for the way we responded. I wouldn't say the first 10 minutes was reflective of the mindset of the team. It looked like we were just not ourselves and some people say that happens after you've lost a couple games. They've responded with two really good practices. I was surprised with the way they came out, and I think that was a result of trying to force the ball. I would have liked to rebound the ball a little bit better but tonight we played a lot of players who hadn't seen much time and it gave them great experience. They came into the game and really stepped up and did some great things. At one point we had three freshman and two sophomores on the floor, and they were looking as poised as anyone on the team. Courtney Dunn stepped in and did a nice job for Aija (Putnina). Overall, I am very happy with the outcome of the game.”
On Youth of Team
“In practice there is very little pressure on them, when they are on the scout or gold team. They can grow and make mistakes without the pressure of being on the black team. Britney (Blythe) is a very good point guard, but when I bring her off the bench I did not immediately put her at the point guard position. I aligned her with Susie (Powers) which gave her a little time to get her feet wet and that also makes her more effective. Courtney Dunn, she can shoot the ball. She is very offensively-minded, and when Jackie (McFarland) is pressured like tonight, it helps take the pressure off of her.”
On Second-Half Lead
“We have been here before. When we hit a shot there was not a lot of celebrating tonight, we needed to stay level-minded and focused and know that there is a lot more of this game to be played. We need to not be satisfied and put teams away.”
On Practice Week
“It was a really tough week, the double-overtime loss to

“It's just so frustrating. Where does that team go that was doing so well in the first half? Where does that team go? It's just disappointing. This team has to dig in and we have to grow up. We are emotionally immature. We've got 14 ways to fix that?everyone in the locker room, including the coaches. This team will bounce back. We've got a lot of mirrors to look in right now.”
On Team Turnovers
“We're just not getting our feet down and we'll look at that on film and try to fix that.”

On Upcoming
“We need to bounce back and find a way to beat Texas A&M on Sat. We have a chance to get a big win.”

GENERAL - “I basically wanted to just come in and step up and be a spark, I wanted to bring some energy. Our seniors obviously always step up every night. Jackie told me, come in and be composed, so I tried to do that.”

ON A GOOD GAME - “It feels great. I'm not going to let it get to my head though. I know there is another game and other opportunities.”
JACKIE McFARLAND Sr. F
ON BEING HACKED - “Obviously I went to the free throw line a lot, and didn't shoot as well as I would have liked to. I think it's something I'm really getting used to. I think its kind of a compliment when people try and double team you. It wasn't just one person hacking, it was two people. We have had a lot of success in the non-conference games when people tried to double down on the post with our outside shooters and our outside players, and I think that happened again tonight. We had some players step up from the perimeter, and we get the win when we are a more balanced team like that. They try and take away the post and we play better.”
