Buffs Finish Sixth at Chick-fil-A Alma Mater

BOULDER-The University of Colorado golf pairing of former head coach Bill McCartney and former quarterback Kordell Stewart tied for sixth place in the 2008 Chick-fil-A Bowl Alma Mater on Tuesday.

 

McCartney and Stewart finished with a 3-under par 69 at the Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro, Ga. The twosome was paired with South Carolina's Steve Spurrier and Sterling Sharpe, who took first place with a 12-under 65.

 

NCAA head coaches and celebrities met their rivals on the links, competing for a $350,000 scholarship purse?$100,000 was awarded to first-place South Carolina. Colorado earned $15,250 for its general scholarship fund. In addition, another $50,000 of the proceeds was donated to the Reynolds Foundation.
