Inaugural Mark Simpson Golf Tournament Set For May 31

The Inaugural Mark Simpson Golf Tournament, benefiting HealthLinks, will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008 at the Coal Creek Golf Course in Louisville.
The Tournament is inspired and sponsored by cancer survivor, Teddi Dingae. The mission of HealthLinks Foundation is to provide financial support, education and community outreach services to promote healthy, active survivorship for cancer patients and their families. The Foundation specifically supports the programs offered by HealthLinks Clinic, a Boulder-based therapeutic exercise and educational facility specializing in opportunities for healthy cancer survivorship.
Mark Simpson was the legendary golf coach at the University of Colorado for 29 years (1977-2005). During his struggle with lung cancer, Mark benefited as a participant in the programs offered at HealthLinks Clinic. Unfortunately, Mark lost his struggle with lung cancer on December 5, 2005, just 11 months after he was inducted into the Golf Coaches Association of America Hall of Fame.
The transition for cancer patients from active treatment to post-treatment care is critical to long-term health. If care is not planned and coordinated, cancer survivors are left without knowledge of their heightened risks and a follow-up plan of action. Such a plan is essential so that routine follow-up visits become opportunities to promote a healthy lifestyle, check for cancer recurrence and manage lasting effects of the cancer experience.
The primary goal of HealthLinks Foundation is expanding the opportunities for cancer patients to receive survivorship care. The Foundation needs your support to achieve its mission. Join us at The 1st Annual Mark Simpson Golf Tournament for a day of fun golf in memory of Mark Simpson to help HealthLinks Foundation.
The entry fee is $125.00 per person. This charge includes lunch, greens and golf cart fees and prizes. Lunch will be served from 12 ? 1:00 PM.
