General

  • The 5-0 start at home matches the 2005-06 season for wins at home to begin the season.
  • Coach Bzdelik is now 13-0 all-time against opponents from the state of Colorado.
  • Colorado is now 2-0 all-time against Colorado Christian.  Coach Bzdelik now moves to a record of 2-0 CCU.
  • CU's 6-3 start to the season matches their record thru the first nine games of last season.
  • CU's 47 points in the first half set a season high for most points scored in the first half.  Their previous high was 45 against Coppin State.  Tonight's 47 first half points was the most by the Buffs since January 6, 2007 vs. Texas when they scored 48 first half points.
  • CU is now 6-2 this season when leading at the half.
  • CU opened the game with an 8-0 run (3:57), Cory Higgins and Marcus Relphorde each had 4 pts.  Later in the half the Buffs put together a 14-0 run (2:34) Levi Knutson led the way with 5 pts.  In the opening 10:30 of the first half Colorado altogether went on a 31-9 run.   
  • CU has now shot over 50% in 6-of-8 first halves this season.  They are now shooting over 50% in 12-of-20 halves this season.
  • CU has scored at least 70 points in 8 of the first 9 games of the season.  They have scored 80 points five times this season equaling the total amount from the first two seasons under Coach Bzdelik.
  • CU has had at least 3 players in double digits in all nine games played this season.

Cory Higgins

  • Tonight's game marks Higgins' 72nd career start. He has started every game he has played at Colorado.
  • Higgins has led the team in minutes played in every game this season. He is averaging 33.5 minutes per game.
  • Higgins secured his 18th career 20-point game and his sixth this season.  On his career he has now scored double digits in 51 games.
  • With 25 points tonight Higgins now has 989 points on his career he is now 11 away from 1000.
  • Scored his last 15 points in the final 8:59 of the game.

Alec Burks

  • Has started all 9 games of the season and has netted at least 10 points in all 9 games.
  • With 139 points he ranks fourth behind CU greats Chauncey Billups (182, 1995-96), Emmet Lewis (161, 1975-76), Richard Roby (142, 2004-05) in freshman scoring.
  • Led team in rebounding with six. This marks the third time this season he has led the team in rebounding (one shared).

Levi Knutson

  • Set a season high in points in the first half scoring seven points in his first 8 minutes of play. He finished the night with 11, giving him seven career games scoring in double digits.

Keegan Hornbuckle

  • Tied a career high with five points in his first nine minutes of play in the first half.  He finished with eight points on the night.

Nate Tomlinson

  • Started his first game of the season tonight.

Dwight Thorne II

  • Dwight Thorne sprained his left ankle at Oregon State. He did not start tonight against Colorado Christian ending a streak of 47 straight starts (57 consecutive games overall) dating back to the 2007-08 season.

Casey Crawford

  • Set a season-high with five rebounds.
