Missouri snaps a three-game losing streak in the series, but Colorado continues to lead the overall series 38-27.

 

Senior Kara Richards had 12 points and 10 rebounds for her fifth career double-double, three of which have come in the last four games. She is averaging 16.5 points and 9.8 rebounds while shooting 63.2 percent (24-of-38) over the last four contests.

 

Richards became the 18th player in team history to reach 500 career rebounds and now sits at 505.

 

Sophomore Brittany Spears scored 26 points, tying her career high output in a Big 12 game. She also had 26 against Texas Tech on Jan. 28.

 

Spears' 944 career points are the second most by CU player in her first two seasons, trailing only CU Athletic Hall of Famer Lisa Van Goor who had 1,288 in her first two years (1980-82). Spears passed another Hall of Fame member, Shelley Sheetz during today's game. Sheetz scored 923 in her first two campaigns (1991-93).

 

Spears has 11 games of 20 or more points this season, six during the Big 12 schedule.

 

Freshman Alyssa Fressle dished out five assists. She is averaging 5.3 assists over the last four games.

 

Sophomore guard Chelsea Dale scored her first points of the season, on a layup in the first half.

 

Sophomore Courtney Dunn played had five points and four rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench. Her 22 minutes are an overall season high and her points and rebounds are Big 12 season highs.
