-Colorado beat their first ranked opponent since the 2006-07 season. They beat then-No. 18/19 Oklahoma State, 84-75 (Feb. 15, 2007). Coming into tonight CU has fallen to ranked opponents in nine-straight games.
-Colorado has now made a 3 point basket in 242 consecutive games.
-Colorado's three first half turnovers were the fewest given up by the Buffs this season. Previously the lowest amount of turnovers in the first half was six (six times, last at Tulsa).
-Colorado's 27 first half points tied for the second fewest points scored this season in the first half (27 at Chaminade). The lowest point first half point total for the Buffs this season has been 26 (Colorado State and Yale).
-Colorado now leads the series against Baylor 15-8. Coming into tonight Baylor had won three of the last four games. Before tonight Colorado last defeated the Bears on March 13, 2008 (91-84 2ots). Coach Bzdelik is now 2-2 against Baylor.
-Colorado trailed by five (32-27) at the half led by Marcus Relphorde's 8 points. This is the first game the Buffs have won when trailing at halftime.
-Colorado opened up the second half on an 11-4 run in the first 4:58 of play led by Relphorde's four points to bring the game to a 38-38 tie.
-CU is 7-0 when four starters score double figures (Relphorde 17, Alec Burks 16, Higgins 18, Nate Tomlinson 11, and Dwight Thorne II 10). This is the third game this season where the Buffs have had five players score in double digits (Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Cal State Northridge).
-Colorado jumped to their largest lead of the game 59-51, on a pair of Corry Higgins free throws with 5:17 left to play in the half.
-CU shot 26-for-52 (50 percent) is 8-2 when shooting over 50 percent from the field. The Buffs shot 61.5 percent (16-26) in the second half giving them their best second half shooting performance of the season.
-CU scored 51 second half points matching their season best that also came against Cal State Northridge.
-CU has scored over 70 points in 12 of 16 games; and is 9-3 in those games.
-Colorado turned the ball over only on only five occasions tonight their lowest total on the season. Previously they had turned to ball over six times against San Francisco.
-Colorado forced 18 Baylor turnovers tonight. Baylor has turned the ball over 18 times now four games this season, the second highest amount. They turned the ball over 20 times against South Carolina.
-Burks has now started all 16 games as a freshman. He has scored in double digits in every game.
-With 16 points tonight he now has 256 points for the season moving ahead of teammate Austin Dufault (254) for the 11th spot on the all-time freshman scoring list. Next up on the list is Cory Higgins (266).
-Relphorde has scored in double digits in four of his last five games (17 tonight). He has averaged 14 pts in those five games.
-Relphorde led the team in rebounding tonight totaling seven boards setting a new career high. This is the third game this season he has led the team in that category.
-Higgins has now led the team in scoring in 9 of the 16 games this season.
-Higgins 18 points tonight now gives him 1,095 career points. He moved ahead of Larry Vaculik (1975-78, 1,084) for the #22 spot on the all-time scoring list. He started the game off shooting 1-4 in 13 minutes of first half play, totaling only two points.
-Thorne II recorded 5 rebounds tonight setting a new season high. His previous was 4 rebounds against San Francisco.
-Tomlinson netted his second double digit scoring night of the season putting 11 points on the board tonight.
-Harris-Tunks made his second career start Saturday. He set a new career high in minutes played with 23 tonight.
-Eckloff tied his season high in minutes played tonight with ten; he saw the same amount of play time in the Buffs previous game against Texas.
