BOULDER - Football wide receiver Paul Richardson (freshman) and tennis player Carla Manzi Tenorio (freshman) were both named Athlete of the Week for October 18-24.

Richardson, a native of Gardena, Calif. (Serra), earns the Athlete of the Week Award for his outstanding performance in last Saturday's game against Texas Tech. The true freshman totaled four receptions for 79 yards and two touchdowns, making him the first true freshman in CU history to have two touchdown receptions in the same game. Both were career highs for the 6-foot-1 wide receiver, who earned both Prep Star and SuperPrep All-American honors his senior year of high school. The last CU player to have two touchdown catches in a single game was senior Scotty McKnight in last year's game against Nebraska.

Manzi Tenorio, a native of Cali, Colombia (Colegio Bolivar), won a total of five matches, including two singles and three doubles, en route to an appearance in the Blue Bracket singles final at the three-day Kansas Invitational. Manzi Tenorio defeated opponents from Missouri-Kansas City and Wichita State before losing in the final match. In doubles, Manzi Tenorio teamed up with freshman Kristina Schleich for another three doubles wins in four matches played.

Also nominated for this week's award: Kerra Schroeder (volleyball) and Kevin Kring (men's golf).

Volleyball: Kerra Schroeder, So., San Diego, Calif.
Sophomore volleyball standout Kerra Schroeder recorded 3.57 kills and 1.57 digs per set in a pair of matches last week against Iowa State and Texas A&M. The 6-foot outside hitter led the team with 27.0 points and posted four block assists.

Men's Golf: Kevin Kring, Jr., Springfield, Mo.
Junior Kevin Kring had the Buffs' top performance this past week in the Alister Mackenzie Invitational in Fairfax, Calif. Tying for 29th, Kring had 11 birdies over three rounds in CU's final fall competition. The Buffs as a team finished 15th.
