The Buffaloes are off to a 3-1 start for the second year in a row. The 2009-10 squad started 6-1.
Colorado's 21 free throws made on 29 attempts were its most in both categories since hitting 24-of-33 against Iowa State on Jan. 16, 2010.
Senior Brittany Spears moved past two of CU's all-time greats in the career scoring column and became just the sixth player in team history to reach 1,600 points. Spears had 20 points, sliding past Jamilah Lang (1,596 from 1990-94) and Bridget Turner (1,599 from 1985-89) into sole possession of sixth on CU's all-time list with 1,611.
Spears made her 97th career start, which ranks 11th on CU's all-time list. She has started every game of her career.
Spears scored in double digits for the 60th time in her last 67 games and for the 83rd time in 97 career games.
Spears had 20 points and 12 rebounds for her 24th career double-double, fourth all-time at CU. It's her second this season (at Denver).
Sophomore Chucky Jeffery scored a career-high and team season-high 25 points. Her previous best was 19 which she achieved three times her freshman year, the last coming against Kansas on Feb. 16, 2010.
Jeffery also recorded a personal-best 10 field goals on 17 attempts.
Junior Julie Seabrook has shot 50 percent or better in all four games this season. Overall she is 13-of-22 on the season (.591).
