Jeffery, Tremblay, and Bosshard Earn CU Athlete of the Week Award

Jeffery, a native of Colorado Springs, Colo. (Sierra), earns an Athlete of the Week award for her outstanding performance at the 2010 Omni Hotels Classic this past weekend at the Coors Events Center. Jeffery recorded the second triple-double in the team's history by scoring 10 points, grabbing 13 rebounds and dishing out 10 assists in the championship game win over Loyola Chicago, 65-34. Her 13 rebounds and 10 assists are both career highs and team single-season highs. The 5-foot-10 guard was also 4-of-6 from the field with a block and a steal against the Ramblers. Jeffery had 17 points, eight rebounds, and six assists, as well as a career-high six steals in the team's first-round 55-53 win over Evansville.
Jeffery's performance marks the 18th triple-double in Big 12 women's basketball history, while she is the 11th league player to accomplish this feat.
Tremblay, a native of Loveland, Colo. (Thompson Valley), earns an Athlete of the Week honor after finishing 23rd overall at the NCAA Cross Country Championship on Nov. 22. Tremblay earned her first All-America n honor in a field of 253 participants. She covered the 6-kilometer course in 20:39.2 and improved 176 places in this year's meet compared to her performance last year. Tremblay helped the CU women finish sixth overall in team scoring, which is the best placement for the Buffs since taking second in 2006.
Bosshard, a native of Crested Butte, Colo. (Crested Butte Academy), earns Athlete of the Week after achieving his first All-American honor on the course after placing 26th overall in the men's 10-kilometer race at the NCAA Championship. Bosshard completed the race in 30:20.4 in a field of 246 men. Improving from an 80th-place finish last year, Bosshard helped lead the Buffaloes to a 15th-place finish.
Also nominated for this week's award: Kerra Schroeder (volleyball) and Alec Burks (men's basketball).
Volleyball: Kerra Schroeder, So., San Diego, Calif.
Schroeder recorded a match-high 20 kills in a five-set loss to Kansas State this past Saturday. She added 10 digs for her ninth double-double of the season. Schroeder had 65 swings in the match, an ace, and two block assists for a team-high 22.0 points.
Men's Basketball: Alec Burks, So., Grandview, Mo.
Burks averaged 21 points and 5.5 rebounds in Colorado's 1-1 week during non-conference play. Burks, who did not start against Alcorn State, played only 19 minutes and scored a team-high 22 points on 8-for-13 shooting, three of which were from behind the three-point arc, and grabbed six rebounds. He managed to score another 20 points, ten from the free throw line, in the 82-66 loss at Harvard.
