The CU Women's basketball team came out fast opening the first half on a 9-0 run. Texas State scored their first field goal of the night with 14:16 remaining in the first half. CU closed out the first half with a score of 34-12

Brittany Spears Continues to Climb Career Ladder:

Brittany Spears achieved career steal number 190 moving her into a tie for eighth all time (Julie Hoehing 1980-84) on CU's steals list. She also tied Erin Scholz (1993-97) for fifth all time field goals made (606) on a 5-of-14 performance from the field. Also, with her five rebounds on the night, Brittany tied Sabrina Scott (1999-03) for fifth all time on the career rebounds list (770).

Spears also started her 100th career game tying her with Lisa Van Goor (1980-85) for most starts to begin a career. Her consecutive start streak is tied for 2nd longest consecutive start streak. Amy Mathern (1989-93) holds the record with 112 consecutive starts. Spears is only the 10th Buff to start 100 career games.

Opening Up the Game:

With 4:31 remaining in the 2nd half the Buffs took a 35 point lead which was their biggest of the season.

Another Big Night For Chucky:

With 23 points and 13 rebounds Chucky Jeffery logged her fourth double- double of the season and the fifth double-double of her career. Chucky has scored a double-double or a triple-double in four of seven games this season. Chucky also matched her career high with 13 rebounds (Loyola-Chicago 11/27/10) and set a new career high for field goals with 11. Her previous high was 10 (UT-Martin 11/21/10).

Ashley Wilson Sets Career Mark:

Ashley Wilson set a career high with 8 points on 3-of-6 shooting. She also added 5 rebounds along with 2 assists and 1 steal in 17 minutes.

Buffs are Dominant Down Low:

The Buffs outscored Texas State in the paint 42-18. The Buffs also outscored the Bobcats 13-4 on second chance points.

Buffs Show Up on Defense:

The Buffs surrendered 35 total points which is 2nd lowest total allowed all season. The season low was 34 points against Loyola-Chicago on 11/27/10. This marks the first time in school history that the Buffs have held their opponents to fewer than 40 points in consecutive games.

Tonight was 4th time the Buffs have allowed 20 or fewer points in the first half with Texas State's 12 points being the fewest points allowed this season. The 12 points ties for the sixth lowest first half total allowed in team history.

Buffs Extend Streak to 173:

The Buffs streak of games with a 3 point field goal was extend to 173 with 5:56 remaining in game. The Buffs finished the night 3/11 from behind the arc.
