Jeffery, Knutson Earn Athlete of the Week Honors

Jeffery, a sophomore guard, had a strong week as the Buffs went 1-1 against Texas State and Illinois, respectively. She was named Athlete of the Week last week after she logged just the second triple-double in team history. This week she notched her fourth double-double of the season in a 67-35 CU victory over Texas State on December 1. Her 23 points that led the team were impressive, but she matched them with an equally notable career-best 11 rebounds. She shot 11-of-14 from the field setting a career best for field goals.
Jeffery again led the Buffs in scoring with 17 points (including seven free-throws) in a 59-63 loss to Illinois. The Colorado Springs, Colo. native also contributed four assists in the loss.
Knutson, the 6-4 guard from Littleton, Colo., piloted the Buffs to a 2-0 homestretch this past week against tough competition. Knutson led the Buffs in scoring both games, first putting away 18 points in the 83-64 victory over Texas-Pan American. He was 7-for-10 shooting and added three rebounds, two assists and one steal in the victory.
Following this performance, the senior put up a career-high 22 points hitting a career best 8-for-10 from the field. He put up six three-pointers against the Beavers which ties the most treys by a CU player since Richard Roby made six in 2006 against Nebraska. His combined three-point percentage for the two games was 72.7 percent on8-for-11 from behind the arc. Knutson also started his fourth time in 92 career games.
