BOULDER- The Colorado basketball players stole the show this week, as Chucky Jeffery (women's basketball) and Levi Knutson (men's basketball) were named CU's Athletes of the Week for their performances the week of November 29-December 5.

Jeffery, a sophomore guard, had a strong week as the Buffs went 1-1 against Texas State and Illinois, respectively. Jeffery again led the Buffs in scoring with 17 points (including seven free-throws) in a 59-63 loss to Illinois. The Colorado Springs, Colo. native also contributed four assists in the loss.

Knutson, the 6-4 guard from Littleton, Colo., piloted the Buffs to a 2-0 homestretch this past week against tough competition. Knutson led the Buffs in scoring both games, first putting away 18 points in the 83-64 victory over Texas-Pan American. He was 7-for-10 shooting and added three rebounds, two assists and one steal in the victory.

Following this performance, the senior put up a career-high 22 points hitting a career best 8-for-10 from the field. He put up six three-pointers against the Beavers which ties the most treys by a CU player since Richard Roby made six in 2006 against Nebraska. His combined three-point percentage for the two games was 72.7 percent on8-for-11 from behind the arc. Knutson also started his fourth time in 92 career games.
