Colorado wins its third straight game at Missouri and fourth in six all-time trips to Mizzou Arena as the Buffaloes increase their series lead over Missouri to 40-27. The 40 wins over Missouri are the most against any one opponent in team history.
Colorado improves to 18-20 all-time in overtime games and 11-14 in road overtime contests. This was CU's first overtime game since its 96-90 win over TCU in the 2008 Postseason WNIT. This was CU's first overtime road win since a 76-74 triumph at Washington on Dec. 21, 2004. This was CU's third overtime game with Missouri, first since March 1994, as the Buffs improve to 2-1 vs. MU in overtime.
Colorado's 80 points are
- Its most in the Big 12 and on the road this season
- The most scored on the road in any game since an 82-47 win at Colorado State on Dec. 1, 2007
- The most scored in a Big 12 game since an 81-67 home win over Iowa State on Jan. 10, 2007
- The most scored in a Big 12 road game since and 84-60 win at Nebraska on Feb. 26, 2002
Colorado made 14-of-29 from 3-point range. Combining with the 15 3-pointers made at Nebraska in the previous game, Colorado's 29 3-pointers made over a two game span are the most in team history. The Buffaloes had a string of 27 over two games against Northern Colorado (13) and Colorado State (14) in 2007.
Colorado's nine 3-point field goals in the first 20 minutes was one shy of the school record of 10 in one half, set against Iowa State on Jan. 10, 2007.
Colorado is 29-of-56 from 3-point range in the last two games.
Junior Brittany Spears scored a team season-high 34 points, hitting 6-of-8 from 3-point range. Her 34 points tie for the seventh-best single-game performance in team history and just two off her career high of 36 set against UMass on Nov 28, 2008.
Spears also finished with 10 rebounds to record her 22nd career double-double, seventh of the season and third in Big 12 play. Her 22 career double-doubles ties Sandy Bean (1978-82) for fourth on CU's all-time list.
Spears became the sixth player in school history to reach 1,400 points and 700 rebounds in her career. She is 10th on CU's scoring list at 1,475 and moved into ninth place in rebounding with 706.
Spears has hit 12-of-15 from 3-point range over the last two games and 16-of-23 over the last four.
Senior Bianca Smith tied a career with 26 points, matching her output against Texas on Feb. 16, 2008. She was 6-of-15 from 3-point range leaving her just one 3-pointer made from Shelley Sheetz's CU record of 252 set from 1991-95. Smith now has 76 3-pointers this season, the third best single-season mark in team history and just four shy of her own single-season record of 80 set in 2007-08.
Smith also set single-game career highs for field goals (9), field goal attempts (20) and minutes played (42).
Sophomore Alyssa Fressle tied a career high with seven rebounds, matching her output against Nebraska on Jan. 31, 2009. She scored in double digits (11) for the fourth time in the last five games.
