Texas A&M-Colorado Notes
Texas A&M wins its seventh-straight game against Colorado and narrows the Buffaloes all-time lead in the series to 10-8. Texas A&M has also won the last three meetings in Boulder.
Colorado has dropped nine of its last 10 games.
CU has dropped 21 straight to ranked teams and 18 straight to teams ranked in both the Associated Press and WBCA Coaches polls (Iowa State was ranked only in the coaches' poll earlier this season as was Kansas State in two meetings in 2008-09). CU's last win over a ranked team was a 73-68 decision over No. 15/15 Kansas State on Feb. 23, 2008.
Colorado's 22 rebounds were a season low and the fewest since recording 21 at Minnesota, a 95-61 loss, on Nov. 23, 2003.
Texas A&M's 63.6 percentage from the field was a season-high for a CU opponent. The 95 points are also the most scored against CU this season and the most by a CU opponent at the Coors Events Center since a 98-76 win over Colorado on Jan. 18, 1980. The 95 points are the most against CU overall since Iowa State defeated the Buffaloes 103-76 on Feb. 2, 2005 in Ames. Texas A&M's 35 field goals are an opponent season high.
Senior Bianca Smith was 4-of-12 from 3-point range, becoming Colorado's all-time leader in 3-point field goals. She passed CU All-American Shelley Sheetz, who had 252 from 1991-95, on her second 3-pointer of the game, a shot from the baseline on the right side with 7:32 left in the first half. Smith, who already owns CU's record for career 3-point attempts (691), now has 255 made.
Smith's four 3-pointers give her 80 for the season, matching her own school single-season record set in her 34-game season of 2007-08.
