Dodson and Coburn Race To Athlete of the Week Honors

BOULDER- Track athletes Jeremy Dodson (senior) and Emma Coburn (sophomore) were named the CU athletes of the week for the week of April 26-May 2. This is the second award of the season for Dodson and the seventh of his career; Coburn now has three for her career, all of which have come this academic year.
Dodson, a Denver, Colo. (George Washington/Arkansas) native, placed second overall in the 200-meter dash at the Texas Invite on May 1, running a season-best 20.65 seconds. The time ranks third in the conference and the west region and is 11th overall in the nation. The time ranks eighth on the CU all-time list in the event (Dodson owns the record at 20.37). He also finished well in the 100, placing fifth overall with a time of 10.42. That time ties for 16th in the CU record book and ranks eighth in the conference. It also ties the 19th best time in the region.
Coburn, a native of Crested Butte, Colo. (Crested Butte), ran to a fifth-place finish in the second section of the 1,500-meter run on Saturday at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invite. She finished the race in 4 minutes, 21.37 seconds and was the third highest collegiate finisher in the event (including the first section which was won by former CU ace Jenny Barringer). Coburn's time ranks third in the league, is 15th in the region and ranks 30th in the NCAA Division I. She cut 6.32 (4:27.69) seconds off her former PR in her 2010 debut of the 1500.

Monica Milewski (women's tennis).Milewski went 1-1 on the singles court as the University of Colorado women's tennis team competed at the 2010 Big 12 Tennis Championships in Austin, Texas. Milewski won her 91st career singles match defeating Kansas State's Antea Hulijev, 6-0, 6-4 at the No. 1 singles position. Milewski's straight set win helped the Buffaloes, No. 9 seed upset the No. 8 seed Wildcats, 4-1. The Buffaloes were shutout by No. 1 ranked and eventual champion Baylor, 4-0 in the quarterfinal round. It was Milewski's 67th career singles win that occurred in straight sets and the victory helped her set a personal-best 26th singles win for the year, becoming the 16th CU woman to win that many matches in a single year.
