
Buffs Notch 85-73 Road Win at Cal State Bakersfield

Bakersfield, Calif.- Alec Burks scored 19 points to lead four Colorado players in double figures as the Buffaloes defeated Cal State Bakersfield 85-73 Sunday night.
Cory Higgins had 16 points and Marcus Relphorde 11 for Colorado (10-4). Austin Dufault contributed 10 points and nine rebounds for the Buffaloes. Andre Roberson had 10 rebounds, his fourth double-digit rebounding game of his freshman campaign.
The victory marked CU's first road win of the season.
Alex Johnson led all scorers with 26 points for the Roadrunners (8-6). He was 6 of 13 from 3-point range and 10 for 21 overall, but Cal State Bakersfield shot just 35 percent from the field. Colorado shot 49 percent and improved to 8-0 this season when shooting a higher percentage than their opponent.
Donavan Bragg added 15 points and Stephon Carter 13, while Rashad Savage pulled down 16 rebounds for Cal State Bakersfield, which had won its previous five home games.
It was the first meeting between the schools.
The Buffs return to action on Wednesday to host Western New Mexico at 7 p.m. at the Coors Events Center. CU's matchup against the Mustangs is their final game before opening Big 12 play at home against No. 10 Missouri on Saturday, Jan. 8 at 11:30 a.m.
