Colorado, Baylor Quotes

Head Coach Tad Boyle
On Baylor's play in the second half:
"Well, they were more efficient offensively in the second half. We talked about it at half time, if we were Baylor and shooting 33 percent, then we would probably be going to go inside on us. We have to be able to handle that and keep their post players from catching it too deep, and we didn't do a really good job of that. Obviously, we talked about winning the second half, and then we came out and instead of us punching them in the mouth, they came out and punched us in the mouth. We couldn't get stops, and everything we worked for in the first 20 minutes was gone in the first part of the second half. They came out and got momentum, got the crowd in the game. I thought our guys battled. I thought they fought; we just didn't play well enough in the second half to win this game. And you have to play at least well enough in the second half when you have a 14-point lead at half time, you can't play not to lose. You have to play to win. "
On Baylor's Defense:
"Well we knew their zone was good because they are so long and so athletic, but the thing that we have to do is we have to attack the zone. You can't get on your heels against it and settle for perimeter jump shots early in the possession. I thought the first half we got the ball inside, we got the ball to the high post, we attacked the basket and that's why we had success against it. In the second half, we took some quick shots and we took some shots that were good shots, we just didn't make them. Part of it is that you have to make shots against a zone. We have good shooters, but we didn't make enough. They packed it in a little more in the second half, they used the same zone and played man more than I thought they would. I thought we did a good job adjusting to that. We got good shots, we just didn't make enough. "
On LaceDarius Dunn's play towards the end of the game:
"We had a break down defensively, especially on that last possession. We wanted to keep the ball out of his hands. If anybody was going to catch it, we wanted (A.J.) Walton to catch it. He had missed a couple free throws early. But Dunn is a good player. He stepped up like seniors do. I thought Cory (Higgins) did a terrific job on him in the first half and then LaceDarius got going there in the second half. He is a hell of a player and you have to tip your hat off to him. He scored 26 points and we made him work for it, but he is a good player. "
