COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The University of Colorado women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 decision to the No. 26 nationally ranked Texas A&M Aggies, Friday afternoon in a Big 12 Conference match.
CU has lost five-straight matches and drop to 3-8 overall and to 0-2 in Big 12 play. The Aggies (7-3) even their conference record to 1-1, have now won six of their last seven matches.
"Tonight we played a very solid Texas A&M team," CU head coach Nicole Kenneally said. "Our ladies battled hard and the real upside of the night was Winde's performance; it was her best all-around match of the year. We will keep our heads up as we continue to learn and get ready to go battle Texas on Sunday."
A&M took all three doubles positions for the single point, then five of singles slots in straight sets.
Freshman Winde Janssen picked up CU's lone point taking a straight set, 6-3, 6-2 win over Janelle Cuthbertson. Janssen earned her seventh victory of the year in 11 singles matches played, including her third of the spring.
Colorado continues the tour of Texas traveling to Austin to take on the No. 22 ranked Longhorns (7-4, 2-0), Sunday, 11 a.m. (MDT).
