CU To Host 2013 NCAA Women's Basketball 1st & 2nd Rounds

Four teams will converge on the Coors Events Center for games between Saturday, March 23 and Tuesday, March 26, with exact dates to be determined in June 2012.
The Coors Events Center is one of 16 first and second round destinations. The other sites are (host schools in parenthesis ): Baton Rouge, La. (LSU), College Park, Md. (Maryland), College Station, Texas (Texas A&M), Columbus, Ohio (Ohio State), Durham, N.C. (Duke), Iowa City, Iowa (Iowa), Knoxville, Tenn. (Tennessee), Louisville, Ky. (Louisville), Lubbock, Texas (Texas Tech), Newark, Del. (Delaware), Queens, N.Y. (St. John's), Spokane, Wash. (Gonzaga), Stanford, Calif. (Stanford), Storrs, Conn. (Connecticut) and Waco Texas (Baylor).
The 2013 NCAA Regional sites are Norfolk, Va., Oklahoma City, Spokane, Wash., and Trenton, N.J. The 2013 NCAA Women's Final Four is scheduled for New Orleans, April 7 & 9.
Colorado has a rich tradition hosting the NCAA Women's Basketball Championship. The Buffaloes have hosted one or more rounds of the NCAA Tournament in 11 different seasons, including 1992 when the Coors Events Center hosted a first round session as well as the Midwest Regional.
Colorado will serve as tournament hosts for the first time since eight teams came to the Pepsi Center in Denver for the 2006 first and second rounds. The Coors Events Center will host games for the first time since the 2003 opening rounds.
The Pepsi Center is also home of the 2012 NCAA Women's Final Four, hosted by the Mountain West Conference (April 1 & 3).
