Roberson, Talley Awarded Athlete Of The Week

Talley led the Buffs to a seventh place team finish at the 2012 Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge, finishing 10th place individually. As the No. 72 player in the country, the Napa, Calif. (R.L. Stevenson) native finished tied with four golfers ranked higher than herself, including the No. 8 player in the country. Of the nine ahead of her, six were ranked in the top 20. Talley extended three of her career records, including the 19th subpar round of her career (six more than any other player in CU history), her 17th career top 10 finish (six more than any other player) and her 26th career top 20 finish (five more than any other player).
Roberson recorded his Pac-12 Conference best 16th double-double of the season (21st career) with a 12 point performance during the Buffs' road win against Utah, 55-48. His 16 rebounds helped CU dominate with a 46-to-28 advantage, with the most rebounds allowed by the Utes this season. His 16 rebounds also improved his pursuit on the CU record book in season rebounds, moving him to 13th place with 293 on the year. The San Antonio, Texas (Wagner) native is only 53 rebounds away from tying the all-time mark set by Burdette Haldorson (346, 1954-55). Against the Utes, Roberson also led the team in scoring with 12 points. This marks the ninth time (team-high) he has led the Buffs in scoring this season. The Buffs won their 18th game of the year and improved to 10-4 in conference play, keeping their hopes alive in the race for conference title.

Sophomore Winde Janssens rallied from a set down to win her 11th match of the year, helping the Colorado tennis team shutout New Mexico (7-0). Janssens defeated Susanna Kuuttila , 3-6, 6-1, 6-4 at No. 2 to win her fourth career match after rallying from a set down to achieve victory. Earlier in the day, Janssens teamed with fellow sophomore Carla Manzi Tenorio at No. 2 doubles for another 8-3 victory. The doubles win helped the CU tandem, ranked No. 55 nationally by the Intercollegiate Tennis Associations (ITA) to their seventh win in eight matches this year.
Junior Chucky Jeffery scored 15 points on 7-out-16 from the field in the Buffs' overtime loss to Utah, climbing into the 23rd spot on CU's all-time scoring list with 1,056 points. Jeffery also added eight rebounds, four assists and three steals. She also moved into the top 15 in all-time rebounding at CU (563).
Freshman Kelsey English placed third in just her second meet of the season at the CSM Twilight on Friday night. With a season-best jump of 5 feet, 7 inches, English's jump tied English for ninth on CU's all-time performers list. It also tied her for the third best jump by a Buff this season.
Senior Jake Timmons had his best performance of the season, recording a jump of 6 feet, 7 inches on Friday at the CSM Twilight Open. The mark tied Timmons for first with three other competitors.
