Colorado-Oregon Notes

February 05, 2012 | Women's Basketball

Colorado has lost three straight for the second time this year. The Buffaloes last three-game skid was snapped with a win over their next opponent, Arizona.

Chucky Jeffery is the 24th player in team history to reach 1,000 career points (now 1,010). She is the 10th player to achieve 1,000 before her senior year. Surpassing 1,000 in her 81st career game, she ties Tera Bjorklund (2000-04) for the ninth fastest to reach 1,000.

Jeffery tied her own team season highs with seven assists and six steals. Jeffery has 22 steals over the last six games (3.7 spg).

Jeffery climbed into a tie for 9th in steals on CU's all-time list with Julie Hoehing (1980-84) at 180. Jeffery is also tied for 14th in assists with Stephanie Mack (1989-83) with 316. She had four rebounds, moving past Mindy Henry for 17th place with 544.

Junior Meagan Malcolm-Peck had a pair of blocked shots moving past Aija Putnina (2006-08) for 12th on CU's all-time list with 64.

Freshman Lexy Kresl scored a career-high 17 points, passing her previous best of 16 set against Wisconsin (Nov. 26, 2011). She also tied a personal best with five 3-pointers made, matching the output from her collegiate debut against Northern Arizona (Nov. 11, 2011). Kresl also set career-highs for field goals attempted (15) and 3-point attempts (14).

Kresl is 10-of-27 from 3-point range over the last three games (.370) after making just three of her previous 29 (.103) over six games.

Sophomore guard Brittany Wilson tied a season-best with seven rebounds (Weber State).

Oregon's 28 free throws made, 32 attempted and nine blocked shots were all CU opponent season highs.

Colorado's 12 steals were its second most this season (16 vs. Northern Arizona), and most in Pac-12 play.

Colorado loses for the first time in eight games this season when winning the turnover battle (UO 21, CU 13). CU also falls to 13-3 this season when winning the rebounding battle.

The loss snaps a seven-game Colorado win streak in games decided by five points or less. The Buffaloes move to 8-3 under Linda Lappe in games of that range.

Colorado's 33 3-point attempts is a season high and its most since putting up 37 against Baylor on March 5, 2011. The 33 attempts tie for CU's sixth-highest single game total and is the most ever attempted on the road.
