Colorado-Oregon Notes

March 02, 2012 | Women's Basketball

Colorado used its ninth starting lineup of the season, starting Brittany Wilson, Ashley Wilson, Meagan Malcolm-Peck, Jasmine Sborov and Julie Seabrook. Seabrook is the only Buffalo this season to start in all 28 games.

Colorado has lost three straight at home for the first time since dropping the final seven of the 2009-10 season. The overall five game skid is also the most since 2009-10.

Colorado falls to 13-5 when leading at halftime. Colorado led Oregon 30-28 at the end of the first half. The Buffs fell to 11-12 when shooting below 45 percent. CU shot 35.1 percent (20-of-57).

Oregon's 10 3-pointers were the second most against CU this season and the most in Pac-12 play. Weber State had 11 on Dec. 17.

Colorado's nine 3-pointers were the third most of the season, and most since drilling 10 at Utah on Dec. 31. The combined 19 3-pointers between the two teams are the most in a CU game this season.

Colorado's 13-of-17 performance from the line (.765) was its best percentage wise since recording an equal number in the win over USC on Jan. 26.

Chucky Jeffery had 19 points, moving into 20th in Colorado career scoring. She now has 1106 points, tonight passing De Celle Thomas (1,098 from 1992-96) and Jasmina Ilic (1,093 from 2003-07). Jeffery needs just one point to catch Julie Hoehing (1980-84) for 19th place.

Jeffery was 4-of-5 from 3-point range, marking her fifth career game with three or more 3-pointers. She moves her career total to 49, as does freshman Lexy Kresl who was 2-of-8 from downtown. Jeffery and Kresl move into a tie for 19th place on CU's career charts meaning the Buffaloes have four active players among CU's career Top 20. Meagan Malcolm-Peck is 12th with 78 and Brittany Wilson is 15th with 58.

Jeffery had nine rebounds, moving into 14th place on CU's career-list with 592. She passed Crystal Ford who had 587 from 1985-89.

Lexy Kresl's 49 3-pointers this year are the fourth most by a freshman and most since Emily Waner had 51 in 2003-04.

Jasmine Sborov tied a career high with seven rebounds. She has grabbed seven boards three times in the last six games (Arizona, Arizona State)

Meagan Malcolm-Peck was 2-of-5 from 3-point range, her first game with multiple 3-pointers since she had two at Utah in the Pac-12 opener on Dec. 31.

Julie Seabrook had 16 points, her ninth double-digit scoring effort of the season and the most since scoring a career high 18 at Washington on Jan. 5. She was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free throw line and tied a career high with six free throws made. Seabrook had a career high two blocked shots. She came into the game with 27 career blocks, but never had more than one in any one game.
