Soccer's Anne Stuller Named Athlete of the Week

BOULDER - CU Soccer's Anne Stuller is honored as this week's Athlete of the Week for her performance during the week of Aug. 13-19. The athlete of the week is sponsored by Silk, Horizon and International Delight.
Stuller and the CU women's soccer team took on the University of Northern Colorado in the first game of the Colorado Cup on Aug. 17. Stuller scored two goals against the Bears, tying her for fourth on CU's single game records list. The junior forward's first goal of the game came at the 5:03 mark, assisted by teammate Hayley Hughes. Stuller's second goal, described by head coach Danny Sanchez as a "world-class strike", came off of a free kick. The Boulder, Colo. (Fairview) native helped the Buffs to their second consecutive Colorado Cup, winning with a 3-1 overall goal differential.
In addition to being recognized as CU's Athlete of the Week, Stuller was also named the Pac-12 Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Aug. 20-27. Stuller currently leads the Pac-12 with six goals and 12 points.
