Special Events Planned For Big Basketball Weekend

February 06, 2013 | Women's Basketball

BOULDER - With postseason positioning already in full gear, the University of Colorado women's basketball team hosts a pair of key Pac-12 Conference games this weekend.

On Friday, Feb. 8, Colorado hosts Oregon State at 7 p.m. in its annual Play 4 Kay pink game to raise awareness in the fight against breast cancer. Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game, and those that do can receive $3 general admission tickets. Additionally, pink t-shirts will be given out to the first 1,500 fans through the door.

Fans will also have the opportunity to donate to the Boulder Community Hospital Auxiliary's Breast Cancer Fund. The BCH Auxiliary works specifically with patients in the Boulder Valley area, providing aid to breast cancer patients. Breast cancer survivors will also be recognized during the game.

Sunday afternoon (Feb. 10) is Colorado's annual State Farm game, where the Buffs hope to pack the house. Contact your local State Farm agent on how to obtain tickets to Sunday's 1:30 p.m. game against Oregon. Last season's State Farm game brought in a season high 5,885 fans against UCLA and this year's Buffs hope to see that number grow even higher.

Sunday is also alumni weekend for Colorado women's basketball, and those in attendance will be recognized at halftime.

At 16-5 overall and ranked No. 21 in the latest Associated Press Women's Basketball Top 25 poll, the Buffaloes are competing for a high Pac-12 Tournament seed and their first NCAA Tournament berth since 2004. For ticket information call 303-49BUFFS.
