Colorado-Oregon Notes

March 02, 2013 | Women's Basketball

Colorado improves to 23-5 overall, 12-5 in Pac-12 play. With Washington's loss to Stanford Thursday night, the Buffaloes have clinched the No. 4 seed and first round bye in the Pac-12 Tournament played in Seattle, March 7-10.

Colorado's 23 wins are its most since CU's 2002-03 team went 24-8. The 23 wins in the regular season are the most since the 1994-95 squad won 24 en route to a school-record 30-3 finish.

Colorado's 12 conference wins are its most since the 1996-97 squad finished 12-4 in the first year of the Big 12. The 12 wins also double the Buffaloes league total from 2011-12 (6-12)

Colorado has won eight straight, its longest win streak within conference games since a similar eight-game run in 2001-02.

Colorado cuts Oregon's lead in the series to 10-5. It was the Buffaloes first win against the Ducks in Eugene in five tries (1-4).

Colorado added to its season record by holding its 12th opponent under 50 points. Eight of those have come in conference games. Prior to this year, CU's record for sub-50 games was nine for an overall season.

Colorado improved to 8-3 in road games, its most road wins since the 2002-03 team was 9-3 on the opponent's home floor. The Buffaloes are 17-10 in their last 27 true road contests and have won their last four. CU improved to 5-3 on the road in the Pac-12.

Chucky Jeffery (12 points, 10 rebounds) became the 5th player in team history to reach 900 career rebounds (901). Moved into fifth on CU's all-time rebounding list during the game as she passed Sandy Bean who had 895 from 1978-82. Jeffery recorded her10th double-double of the season and 30th of her career. She double-doubles in six of her last eight games. She is only the fourth different CU player to reach 10 double-doubles all of which have done it in multiple seasons; and she's the lone guard in the group:
