QUICKLY UCLA now leads the series by a 8-2 count (4-0 with both as members of the Pac-12) ...CU drops to 5-7 in overtime games (0-2 this year, 0-3 in multiple); this was the third time CU has played two OT games in the same season (1999 two regular season, 2002 one in a bowl game); all seven losses have been by 3 points ... Game time of 3:53 tied for the fourth longest in CU history (longest was 4:01 at Cal this year, also 2 OT) ... Colorado has now lost two straight coin tosses after winning the first six (plus the OT one at Cal) ... Colorado started a new tradition today: the Buffs will carry out the flags of United States and Colorado when taking the field; Richard Yates had the Colorado flag and Jeromy Irwin the U.S. one ... The 92-yard run by Paul Perkins was the second longest ever against CU (Robbie Rouse, Fresno State, 94 in 2012).

Second Quarter Mastery: Colorado continued its second quarter dominance this season: it outscored UCLA 14-7 and outgained the Bruins 194-100; on the year, CU has now outscored the opponent 90-58 and outgained the foe, 1,128-680.

Speaking of Second: Colorado was 8-of-8 in the first converting 2nd-and-4 or less situations into first downs (game: 11-of-13).

Fourth Quarter: Colorado also has owned the fourth quarter this year, outscoring the opponent 62-51 and outgaining them 980-614 (186-65 today); in CU's four home games, CU has advantages of 34-13 in scoring (only Oregon State scored points) and 550-255 in yards.

CU finished with 500 yards of total offense, the seventh straight game over 400 (the first time since the first seven games of the 1994 season); with three 500+ games this year, that is the most since three in 2002 ... Not a lot of deep throws in this game (15-yards or more in the air from scrimmage: Liufau was 2-of-4, Hundley 0-of-6.

WR NELSON SPRUCE (6-63, 0 TD)He has caught at least one pass in 21 straight games (multiple in 17 straight, three or more in 14 in a row). He has 77 receptions on the year, third most-ever at CU, and is six shy of the single-season mark of 83 set by Paul Richardson just last year.

TB TONY JONES (17-68, 1 TD RUSHING; 5-36 RECEIVING) In 44 career games, he now has 1,189 career rushing yards (39th all-time at Colorado) and 514 receiving yards (69th); today, he became the ninth player at CU to join 1,000/500 club (rushing and receiving yards) and the 13th in the 500/500. A closer look (ranked by yards):

QB SEFO LIUFAU (45-27-2, 246, 2 TD) He set the school record for single-season TD passes with 23 (breaking the record of 22 set by Koy Detmer in 1996). He surpassed the 4,000-yard career mark today in both total offense with 4,236 (10th at Colorado) and passing yards 4,055 (eighth).? He has at least one TD pass in 16 straight games, the fifth longest active streak in the NCAA, and two or more in 11 straight (tops in the nation);

INDIVIDUAL LINER NOTES

PK Will Oliver (3-3 FG, 4-4 PAT, 13 points) He has now made 93 consecutive extra points, and with 246 career points, he is now eight back of second (254; Bobby Anderson, 1967-69).

WR Shay Fields (2-14 receiving). He now has 38 receptions this year, one shy of the freshman mark of 39 set by Chris McLemore in 1982.

TB Michael Adkins (17-107, 1 TD rushing) He had CU's second 100-yard rushing game this year, and the second of his career.

COLORADO INJURIES ILB Addison Gillam (flu); S Marques Mosley (knee; will be re-evaluated Sunday but as of now, day-to-day for Washington); S Tedric Thompson (all tests were negative at Boulder Community Hospital, where he was taken for precautionary reasons).
