Colorado-Oregon State Notes

February 08, 2014 | Women's Basketball

Oregon State narrows Colorado's lead in the series to 5-2. Both of Oregon State's wins have come in Corvallis, winning 2-of-3 at Gill Coliseum since the Buffs joined the Pac-12.

Colorado has lost its last four on the road and five of its last six. The four game road skid is the longest for the Buffaloes in two years (Feb. 2012).

Oregon State's 49 percent from the field is a season high for a Colorado opponent. The Beavers shot 60 percent in the second half, also CU opponent season-high.

Colorado's 12-point margin of defeat was its highest of the season. The Buffaloes previous eight losses had all come by 10 points or less.

Colorado gave up 70 points for just the fifth time in the last 54 games. The Buffaloes drop to 1-4 this season when giving up 70 or more points.

In the first half alone there were 10 lead changes and 9 ties. Neither team led by more than three until OSU's 5-0 run at the end of the half to take a 36-31 halftime lead. Oregon State led the entire second half.

Brittany Wilson scored 10 points moving into 22nd place on CU's all-time scoring list, now with 1,095 points. She passed Jasmina Ilic who had 1,093 from 2003-07. She hit both free throws she attempted making her 26-of-29 (.897) over the last four games. Wilson had a pair of 3-pointers as well (2-of-5) matching her output from the previous five games combined (2-of-12).

Wilson's 10 marked her sixth straight game scoring in double figures, totaling 51 in her career which ties her with Ilic for 21st on CU's career charts. She is averaging 13.7 points over that six-game span.

Wilson, who has played every possible game in her career, moved into a four-way tie for 13th in games played at 123. Rachel Hargis moved into a three-way tie for 17th at 122.

Sophomore Jamee Swan had a pair of blocked shots, moving into a tie with Jenny Roulier (1998-02) for 18th place on CU's all-time list with 50.

Senior guard Ashley Wilson hit a 3-pointer for just the seventh time in her career and second of the season. Her last 3-pointer came at New Mexico on Nov. 23. Wilson also pulled down six rebounds and is averaging 5.8 rebounds over the last four games.

Junior guard Lexy Kresl had a string of 14-straight made free throws snapped, going 3-of-4 for the afternoon. It was only the sixth missed free throw of the season for Kresl (45-51, .882), who entered the day leading the Pac-12 in free-throw percentage.
