Buffs Set To Battle No. 13 Kentucky On The Road

THE GAME: The University of Colorado hits the road for the first time this season, traveling to Lexington, Ky. to face the 13th-ranked (AP & USAT) Kentucky Wildcats. Tip off is set for 12 p.m. MST on Sunday, Nov. 22 from Memorial Coliseum.

The game will also be on KVCU 1190 AM. Cory Lopez will have the call and Carol Callan of USA Basketball will provide the color commentary.
ABOUT THE BUFFS: Colorado is 2-0 on the season. The Buffaloes defeated Loyola Marymount 92-81 in their home opener and then most recently took down Northern Colorado 63-41 with a strong defensive performance as head coach Linda Lappe earned her 100th career win at Colorado.
Colorado held the Bears to 22.6 percent shooting and allowed them to connect on only four shots from behind the arc (4-28), while the Bear's leading scorer only had nine points.
Senior Jamee Swan recorded her first double-double of the season with 13 points and 10 rebounds. She also had two blocks and one assist.
Junior Haley Smith scored a season-high 15 points to lead the Buffaloes on offense and recorded seven rebounds.
ABOUT KENTUCKY: The Kentucky Wildcats are ranked No. 13 in both the AP and USA Today polls and are 3-0 on the young season with their most impressive win coming against then-No. 15/15 Arizona State, 68-64 (overtime) on the road.
The Wildcats, coming off their sixth straight NCAA Tournament appearance in 2014-15, are led in the backcourt by junior Makayla Epps, who is averaging 20.5 points, 8 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game.
As a team, Kentucky has averaged 84 points per game, while holding its opponents to 30.3 percent from the field.
Head coach Matthew Mitchell is in his ninth season leading the Wildcats and is Kentucky's all-time winningest coach with a 197-81 record in Lexington.
THE SERIES: This will mark the first meeting between the Buffaloes and Wildcats.
WHAT'S NEXT?: The Buffaloes return home to host the Omni Classic, Nov. 27-28. Colorado will play Massachusetts on Friday, Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m. MST and then face either Florida or Ball State on Saturday, Nov. 28 at 5 or 7:30 p.m. at the Coors Events Center.
