Colorado-Northern Colorado Notes
November 29, 2015 | Men's Basketball
Colorado improves to 5-1 and has won its last five. It's the first five-game win streak for the Buffaloes since the 2013-14 nonconference schedule when CU won 10-straight. Colorado has won at least five of its first six for the fourth straight season.
Colorado is averaging 85.2 points during its five-game win streak. The Buffaloes have hit at least 80 points in all five games, the best streak of 80-plus games since March 10-22, 2011, covering the Big 12 Tournament and NIT.
Colorado improves its series lead over Northern Colorado to 20-18 and the Buffaloes have won eight straight. CU is 13-8 all-time against UNC in Boulder
With 10 3-pointers made, Colorado has hit double-digits for the second straight game (13 vs. Air Force). It's the first time with back-to-back games with 10 or more 3-pointers since Dec. 2010 when the Buffaloes had 10 vs. The Citadel and 10 vs. Longwood. The 23 3-pointers in two games are the most since the Buffs had 11 vs. Baylor and 12 at Oklahoma State Jan. 18-21, 2006.
Wesley Gordon (9 points, 15 rebounds, 2 blocks) corralled a team season-high 15 rebounds; his second-best game as a Buff just trailing his 17-rebound effort against Washington on Jan. 22, 2015. It was his 12th career game with double-figure rebounds and he became the fourth CU player to reach double-digits this year (Josh Scott-2, Josh Fortune-1).
Gordon's two blocks put him at 100 for his career, becoming the ninth Buffalo to reach that figure. Gordon has 30 rebounds over the last three games (10.0 rpg)
Tory Miller (7 points, 6 rebounds) scored a season-high in points hitting 2-of-3 from the field. He also matched his season-best in rebounds (Omaha).
Josh Scott (18 points, 8 rebounds, 5 blocks) collected a career and team season-high five blocked shots. Registered his 72nd career double-figure scoring game. Scott has made 29-of-38 (.763) from the field over the last five games. He has at least two blocks in every game and is now averaging an even 3.0 per contest. Now with 1,287 career points, Scott is just one point from Pat Frink (1964-65, '66-68) for 17th in career scoring and three points from Alec Burks (2009-11) who is in 16th at 1,291.
Josh Repine (3 points, 1-of-1 3FG) scored his first collegiate points, on a 3-pointer late in the contest, in his sixth career game.
