BOULDER -- Sophomore Esther Lee of the University of Colorado women's golf team was recognized by the Women's Golf Coaches Association on Friday as she was named to the All-American Second Team.

In her first year competing for the black and gold, Lee put together one of the best seasons in CU history, finishing her 2014-15 campaign with a team-best 73.03 stroke average. She recorded 10 top 20 finishes, which is tied for second most all-time in a single season and also notched a school record 72.25 spring stroke average.

The Los Alamitos, Calif., native won her first collegiate tournament, earning medalist honors at the Bay Area Intercollegiate this past spring where she shot a school record 206 in the 54-hole meet. Her record-setting performance included back-to-back 67s in the first two rounds. All-together, she tallied five rounds in the 60s, which is also a single-season school record.

Lee helped guide the Buffs to 11 top 10 finishes, tying the 2010-11 squad for most all-time in one season and a school-best fifth place in the Pac-12 Championships. CU also earned a bid to the NCAA Regionals, finishing 12th in St. George, Utah.
