Wilson, Kresl Sign With Same Swedish Professional Team

Two former Buffaloes are teammates once again.
Lexy Kresl and Brittany Wilson, who played three seasons in the same University of Colorado basketball backcourt, have each signed one-year professional contracts to play with Mark Basket Marbo Kinna in Sweden.
Kresl and Wilson played together from 2011-14, combining for over 2,000 points, 300 3-pointers and nearly 600 assists. The duo appeared in three postseason events together including the 2013 NCAA Tournament.
Wilson will be playing her second season of professional basketball overseas. She played for KR Reykajavik in Iceland, averaging 17.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists in two games before suffering a season-ending injury.
“I've worked extremely hard the past year recovering from injury and I just want to thank Mark Basket for another opportunity to do what I love,” said Wilson in a statement. “They can expect me to be a workhorse on both ends of the floor and I'm excited to be playing next to my old teammate again.”
It is the first professional contract for Kresl, who graduated from Colorado in May.
“I am so excited to join Mark Basket in Sweden this fall under Coach Frank Alm,” said Kresl in a statement. “Brittany and I will be a great fit for his program as he likes to play a fast paced game on both offense and defense."
Wilson, native of Long Beach, Calif., was a four-year regular for the Buffaloes (2010-14), playing in 133 career games, just one short of Colorado's all-time record. She scored 1,194 points currently 20th on CU's career charts. Wilson averaged 9.0 points, 3.1 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.3 steals over the course of her career and her 140 3-point field goals currently rank 10th on the Buffs' all-time list.
A native of Paradise Valley, Ariz., Kresl averaged 12.4 points, 4.5 assists and 4.4 rebounds as a senior in 2014-15 earning honorable mention to the 2015 All-Pac-12 Conference team. Kresl wrapped up her illustrious playing career (2011-15) among the all-time finest at Colorado in numerous categories including fourth in free throw percentage (.832), seventh in 3-pointers made (185), 18th in assists (294) and 22nd in points (1,109).
“What a great opportunity for Brittany and Lexy to unite as teammates again,” Colorado head coach Linda Lappe said. “We are proud that both have the passion to continue to play the game they love...now as professionals.”
Mark Basket finished the regular season in fifth place in the Swedish Damligan with a 12-10 record, and fell to Norrkoping in the quarterfinals this past year.
