Three CU Golfers Earn All-Academic Honors

BOULDER – Three University of Colorado golfers have been honored for their academic achievements as the Pac-12 Conference announced its All-Academic teams on Wednesday.
To be eligible for selection to the academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and participated in at least of his or her team's scheduled regular season events.
On the women's team, junior Allie Zech earned second-team recognition while junior Alexis Keating was named honorable mention.
Zech, an Indian Wells, Calif. native is majoring in International Affairs and holds a 3.70 grade point average. This marks the first conference academic honors for Zech, who competed in 15 rounds over six tournaments this past season.
Keating, a Communications major from Elma, Wash., earned honorable mention honors for a second consecutive year. She holds a 3.49 grade point average. Keating played 31 rounds in all 11 events in which the Buffs registered a team score this past season and posted a 75.03 stroke average, third best on the team.
For the men's team, junior Philip Juel-Berg was recognized with second-team honors, as the Economics major owns a 3.42 grade point average. He previously earned honorable mention honors as a sophomore. He was fourth on the team in stroke average this past season (74.21) and has played in all 37 of CU's major tournaments in his career.
