Colorado-San Diego:
CU has dropped its season opener the last two seasons (2013 & 14), and both season the Buffs advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
The Buffs are now 20-10 in home openers in their 30 season.
Freshmen Naghede Abu, Abbie D'Agosta, Aidan Lea and Gabby Carta-Sameuls made their CU debuts.
Abu had two kills and four block assists. The four block assists tied for the led for the Buffs with sophomore Anna Pfefferle.
Colorado-Florida State:
CU is 1-0 against ranked opponents this season.
Alexis Austin had a season-high 24 kills in the match.
Redshirt sophomore Joslyn Hayes left the match in the first set due to any injury.
Freshman Naghede Abu earned her first career start for the Buffs in the match.
Colorado – Oklahoma Notes
This was the first meeting for the former Big Eight/12 Conference rivals since CU left for the Pac-12. (The last season CU played in the Big 12 was 2010.)
CU leads the all-time series against Oklahoma 36-19
The teams have played 12 five-set matches during their history; CU has won five of those matches.
CU is now 2-0 in five set matches this season.
OU had won four straight matches against the Buffs dating back to the Pac-12 Conference.
Alexis Austin has recorded 10 or more kills in all three matches this year. Two of those matches have had 20 kills or more.
