Women's Basketball Finishes Weekend At Oregon

THE GAME: The University of Colorado closes out the weekend with a Pac-12 contest against the Oregon Ducks in Eugene on Sunday, Feb. 14 at Matthew Knight Arena. Tip off is set for 5 p.m. MT.

BROADCAST: Sunday's game is scheduled to air live on Pac-12 Mountain and Pac-12 Oregon. Krista Blunk will have the call alongside Julianne Viani. The game will also be available on KKZN 760 AM with Cory Lopez on the call.

ABOUT THE BUFFS: Colorado is 6-18 overall and 1-12 in Pac-12 play. The Buffaloes have dropped three consecutive games and are in search of their first win away from Boulder this season as Colorado is 0-10 on the road.

On the offensive end, the Buffaloes are averaging 62.2 points per game while shooting 39.3 percent from the field. Colorado is shooting 72.2 percent at the free throw line, which ranks fifth in the Pac-12 Conference. The team also ranks in the top half of the conference from long distance as they are sixth in the league, connecting on 33.9 percent of its shots behind the arc.

Defensively, Colorado has allowed 69.0 points per game on 41.5 percent from the field. The Buffaloes average 37.2 total rebounds, and are fifth in the Pac-12 with 4.4 blocked shots per game.

Senior Jamee Swan has been the team's top scorer and rebounder throughout the season, averaging 13.3 points and 7.0 rebounds while hitting 44.5 percent from the field and 67.0 percent from the free throw line. Swan has also recorded a team-leading 40 blocks on the season and three double-doubles.

Swan ranks 13th in the Pac-12 in scoring, eighth in field goal percentage, 13th in overall rebounding, 10th in free throw percentage, is 11th with 5.1 defensive rebounds per game and is fourth in blocked shots (1.8 bpg).

Freshman Kennedy Leonard has made a significant impact for the Buffaloes in her debut season as the team's starting point guard and continues to grow into a leadership role on the floor. She enters the game as Colorado's second highest scorer, averaging 11.4 points per game and has also dished out a team-leading 107 assists, averaging 4.5 in each contest.

On the Pac-12 leaderboard, Leonard is 19th in scoring, seventh in assists, 11th in assist/turnover ratio (1.3) and tied for 13th in steals (1.5 spg).

Junior guard Haley Smith is having a strong 2015-16 campaign on both defense and offense. She's averaging 10.3 points per game and is second on the team with 5.7 rebounds. She has been one of Colorado's most accurate shooters from the field at 46.5 percent and at the free throw line where she has gone 35-of-39 (.897).

Smith ranks 25th overall in the conference in scoring and 19th in rebounding.

Junior wing Lauren Huggins is averaging 8.0 points per game and is second on the team in 3-point shooting, connecting on 44-of-114 of her shots totaling a 39.9 field goal percentage from behind the arc. In ten Pac-12 games this season, Huggins has shot 40.0 percent from the 3-point line. She tied a career-high with five treys against Arizona. The Littleton, Colo. native is fifth in the conference in 3-point field goals made as she averages 2.1 per game and 10th in 3-point field goal percentage.

Among Pac-12 opponents, Huggins ranks 10th in 3-point field goal percentage and third in 3-point field goals made.

Freshman Alexis Robinson has been a mainstay in the starting line up since early on in Pac-12 play. The Ashland, Ky. native is averaging 8.0 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists. She is shooting 36.4 percent from the 3-point line, third-best on the team. Robinson had one of her best offensive performances of her young career against UMass when she scored a personal-best 21 points and her best defensive performance came in the Buffs' Pac-12 opener when she held Washington's Kelsey Plum to a season low 18 points, 10 below her nation leading average of 28.1 per game at the time.

Freshman Makenzie Ellis earned her first Pac-12 start of her career against Oregon State on Feb. 12 after providing a nice spark off the bench. She is averaging 3.3 points and 3.1 rebounds a game and shooting 38.8 percent from the field.

Junior Zoe Beard-Fails leads the reserves in scoring and rebounding. She is averaging 4.4 points and 3.1 rebounds while shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 66.7 percent at the free throw line.

Sophomore center Zoe Correal is averaging 2.2 points and 3.5 rebounds and is second on the team in blocked shots with 16 total. All 15 of her career starts have come this season.

ABOUT OREGON: The Oregon Ducks are 18-6 overall and 7-6 in Pac-12 play. After starting their conference schedule 0-5, the Ducks have won seven of eight. Oregon ranks second in the Pac-12 in scoring, averaging 74.9 points on the league's best shooting accuracy, 47.4 percent. Oregon is also tops in the Pac-12 in 3-point shooting, connecting on 42.6 percent of its shots from behind the arc. On defense, the Ducks allow 61.5 points per game on 39.1 percent shooting from the field.

Senior forward Jillian Alleyne leads Oregon in scoring and rebounding, averaging a double-double on 18.3 points and 13.4 rebounds in each game. She owns the top rebounding mark in the conference, is third in scoring and also ranks first in field goal accuracy at 57.8 percent. Senior guard Lexi Petersen averages 12.9 points to go along with 2.7 assists per game that is second on the team. Sophomore guard Lexi Bando is also averaging double-figures (10.9 ppg) and is Oregon's top 3-point shooters at 46.8 percent. Freshman guard Maite Cazorla leads Oregon in assists, dishing 5.9 per game.

THE SERIES: This will be the 19th meeting between Colorado and Oregon with the Ducks holding a 11-7 series advantage. The Buffaloes have won the last four of five games, but dropped a 46-59 decision at the Coors Events Center last month. The Buffs are 4-3 against the Ducks since joining the Pac-12 for the 2011-12 season.

Linda Lappe is 4-3 against Oregon as a head coach.

WHAT'S NEXT?: The Buffaloes return to Boulder for their final two home games of the season and will host the Bay Area schools. Colorado faces Stanford on Friday, Feb. 19 and then battles California on Sunday, Feb. 21. Both contests will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
