Buffs Host Annual Pink Game, Senior Day And More This Weekend

BOULDER – The University of Colorado women's basketball team will host their final two home contests of the regular season this weekend, highlighted by the annual Play4Kay Pink Game on Friday, Feb. 19 and Senior Day on Sunday, Feb. 21.

Friday, Feb. 19
Colorado faces No. 15 Stanford at 8 p.m. MST in its breast cancer awareness game. At the game, Colorado will be handing out pink t-shirts to the first 750 fans in attendance and during halftime, the Buffs will be honoring breast cancer survivors. All breast cancer survivors and those currently fighting the disease are welcome to attend the game for free with their families. Sunday, Feb. 21
Colorado plays California at 12 p.m. Before tip-off, the Buffaloes will honor senior forward Jamee Swan as she plays her final home game of her career. Colorado is also scheduled to host a variety of other pregame activities. See below for more information.
National Girls & Women In Sports Day
This event is open to girls in 8th grade or under and boys in 6th grade and under (NCAA rules restrict who can participate) and will feature a series of sports and fitness stations, hosted by CU female student-athletes and coaches.
Kids get in free and parents must purchase a $10 ticket. The main northwest entrance of the Coors Events Center will be open as well as the CEC Box Office. Doors open for all participants at 9:45 a.m. MST and stations begin at 10 a.m. In order to participate in the stations and get the free tickets for kids, fans must enter the arena by 10:45 a.m. Stations will remain open from 10 to 11 a.m. and then at 11 a.m., kids are welcome to get autographs from the Buffs in attendance.
Jr. Buffs Spirit Squad Day
Prior to the game, kids in 8th grade and under will have the opportunity to train and practice with the CU Spirit Squad and then perform during halftime of the game. The cost of the clinic is $40 and kids can sign-up at CUBuffs.com/spirit. The cost includes the clinic, a t-shirt and ticket to the Cal game for the participant.
Read With the Buffs Day
All kids who participate in and complete the Read with the Buffs reading incentive program will receive two free tickets to Sunday's game. In addition, those who are named the best or most improved reader in his or her class will take part in the on-court game ball presentation to IBM at halftime.
Postgame Autographs
After Sunday's game is over, fans are welcome stay for an autograph session with the CU women's basketball team.
