Josh Scott Named To NABC All-District Second Team

BOULDER – University of Colorado senior Josh Scott has been named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-District 20 Second Team the organization announced on Friday.

The All-District mention is the latest in a strong list of awards for the 6-foot, 10-inch forward. Scott is a two-time All-Pac-12 Conference first team pick (2014 and '16) and a member of the 2016 Pac-12 All-Defensive Team. He was also one of 10 finalists for the 2016 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Award, given to the nation's top big man.

Scott is Colorado's fourth All-District 20 honoree – all second team picks – since joining the Pac-12 for the 2011-12 season, joining Askia Booker (2015), Spencer Dinwiddie (2013) and Andre Roberson (2012).

Scott led the Buffaloes at 16.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game in 2015-16 while hitting 53 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free throw line. A two-time Pac-12 Player of the Week this past campaign, Scott ranks fourth in double-doubles (13), fifth in scoring, rebounding and blocks (1.6 bpg), 12th iin field goal percentage and 14th in free throw percentage on the league charts.

A native of Monument, Colo., Scott helped guide Colorado to four postseason appearances including three NCAA Tournaments. He is one of only two players in team history, joining Cliff Meely, to record 1,700 points, 900 rebounds and 100 blocked shots. On Colorado's all-time leaderboard, he finished his career second in blocks (162) and free throws (504), third in rebounds (974), fifth in double-doubles (36) and eighth in scoring (1,709) and field goals (600).

Colorado finished the 2015-16 at 22-12 overall and placing fifth in the Pac-12 at 10-8. The Buffaloes advanced to their 14th NCAA Tournament and fourth in the past five seasons.
