Buffs Show Their Stuff At 2016 Pro Timing Day

BOULDER -- The University of Colorado hosted six former Buffaloes and 24 scouts from 17 teams at the school's annual Pro Timing Day Wednesday.
The players in attendance who showcased their talent were offensive lineman Stephane Nembot, fullback Jordan Murphy, defensive backs Ken Crawley and Jered Bell, tailback Christian Powell, wide receiver Nelson Spruce and long snapper Wyatt Tucker-Smith.
The day's events started in the new Champions Center weight room, where players weighed in and participated in a vertical jump test. Crawley, Nembot and Spruce chose not to participate in the vertical today, deferring to their combine numbers. In Indianapolis, Crawley jumped 36.5 inches, tallying the highest official jump of any Buffs over the past two weeks. Spruce jumped 35 inches while Nembot jumped 26.5 inches. Powell put up today's the highest number with a vertical jump measuring 34.5 inches.
The players then followed with the bench press where Murphy dominated with 22 reps. Nembot deferred to his combine numbers in the bench press; in Indianapolis, he pressed 32 reps, the second highest at the combine.
Pro Timing Day then moved to the brand new indoor practice facility where the group participated in drills including the 40-yard dash, the broad jump and the there cone drill.
Bell turned in the day's fastest 40 at 4.46 seconds. Crawley recorded the 2016 Buffs' classes fastest 40 a week prior at the combine; in Indianoplis, the DB recorded a 4.43. Spruce bettered his combine mark of 4.69 by .13 seconds, today recording a time of 4.56. Nembot also bettered his time from the combine, running his 40 today in 5.22; the offensive lineman ran it in 5.39 in Indianapolis.
Powell impressed in the broad jump, leaping 9'8”. Bell was right behind him with a jump of 9' 7”.
Spruce led the way in the shuttles finishing with a time of 4.29 in 20 meter shuttle. He deferred to his combine time in the 7.09 in the three cone drill. In that drill, Crawley took the day's fastest time of 11.14.
The 2016 NFL Draft will take place April 28-30 in Chicago at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University.
