The Buffaloes will play 12 home matches at Prentup Field in Boulder and will compete on national television eight times on Pac-12 Networks. The Buffs will open their season on Friday, Aug. 19, at Air Force with their first of three matches in the Colorado Cup. They will continue Colorado Cup play on Sunday, Aug. 21, with their home opener against Colorado State at 3 p.m., which will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Networks. CU will also host two neutral-site matches that day. After a road trip to former Big 12 rivals Kansas and Missouri, Colorado will return home for five non-conference matches against Michigan State, Drexel, Hawaii, Iowa and Denver in early-mid September. The Buffs will play their first three Pac-12 matches on the road at Washington State, Arizona and Arizona State. They then return to Boulder for three straight matches in early October against Oregon, Oregon State and Washington. After a two-match road trip to defending conference champion Stanford and California, CU wraps up the regular season at home with UCLA, Southern California and Utah. Fans in Boulder will be able to catch nearly every conference match this season as all but two road Pac-12 matches will be broadcast on Pac-12 Networks. CU will face six opponents that reached the NCAA Tournament last year, including Washington (Oct. 14) and Southern California (Oct. 30) at Prentup Field. Sanchez is entering his fifth season as head coach of Colorado. He carries an impressive 43-32-10 record through four seasons in Boulder, and a career record of 310-92-33 in 20 seasons overall. He has guided the Buffs to two NCAA Tournament appearances in 2013 and 2014. The Buffs return four players that started at least 15 matches last season, including senior Danica Evans who tied for the team lead in goals. The other three include senior Morgan Stanton, junior Joss Orejel and sophomore Sarah Kinzner, who was named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman team a year ago. Sophomores Erin Greening and Stephanie Zuniga, who saw limited action as freshmen last season, were among the team’s leading scorers this spring.
