Annual Play4Kay Game Set For Friday

January 30, 2017 | Women's Basketball

BOULDER - Colorado women's basketball team returns home this weekend to host two big games on Friday and Saturday. Friday's game against Washington State tips off at 6 p.m. and Sunday's game against No. 10 Washington begins at noon.

Friday's game is the annual Play4Kay game, the annual game to support breast cancer awareness and the Kay Yow Fund. Fans wearing pink to the game will receive a $5 general admission ticket.

Prior to the game, there will be plenty of activities for kids. From 5 to 6 p.m., all kids in eighth grade and under are invited to travel around the world at the Coors Events Center. Stations from seven different countries will be set up around the concourse to provide an educational opportunity with Chip's Kids Club. The kids fun will continue throughout the game as kids will be invited to help the CU staff with tasks such as reading the starting lineups, running a Buff Vision camera and delivering the game ball.

Sunday's game features a deal that includes a $7 food voucher for a $15 game ticket. Chip's Kids Club area will be open one hour prior to tipoff.

Washington State enters Friday's game 9-12 overall this season and 4-6 in Pac-12 play. Sunday's game features 10th-ranked Washington (20-3, 8-2 Pac-12). The Huskies feature National Player of the Year candidate Kelsey Plum, who earlier this season became the Pac-12's all-time leading scorer (women's and men's) and currently has over 3,000 career points and is averaging 31.3 points this season. UW also has All-America candidate Chantel Osahor, who is averaging 15.2 points and 14.6 rebounds and had 30 rebounds in a game last week.
