Weather:

  • Today's weather in Corvallis is calling for 52 degrees at kickoff with a high of 60 degrees on the day and zero percent chance of preciptation during the game.

Pregame
  • Phillip Lindsay needs 15 more rushing yards to pass Heisman Trophy winner Rashaan Salaam for third place on CU's all-time rushing record list. Lindsay has also scored a touchdown in the first six games of the season and has scored a touchdown (rushing or receiving) in 17 of of his last 21 games
overall. He needs two more points to reach 200 in his career and become just the fifth Buff who was not a kicker to score 200 career points.
  • The Buffs have gone nine-straight quarters without a turnover dating back to a third quarter interception against Washington in week four. The most turnover-free games in a season by the Buffaloes is four, which has occurred in 1989, 1993, 2006 and 2011. Colorado already has played three
turnover-free games in 2017 (Texas State, UCLA and Arizona).
  • Last season against Oregon State, WR Shay Fields set a new CU record with three TD receptions in the first half. Fields had a career-high 169 yards
receiving on seven catches in the win, averaging 24.1 yards per catch. He enters this contest with the Beavers needing one more TD for 20 in his career, which would make him the sixth Buff all-time to catch 20 or more TD passes.
First Quarter
  • Colorado started its first drive of the game from its 16-yard line. After a one-yard loss on a Phillip Lindsay run and two incomplete passes, the Buffs were forced to punt from deep in their own territory. Oregon State took over on its 40-yard line.
  • Oregon State cashed in on its first drive of the game with a Ryan Nall touchdown run from four yards out. The Beavers rushed the ball seven times and threw it three times to drive 60 yards and put them on top of the Buffs 7-0.
  • The Buffs followed Oregon State's touchdown with a touchdown run of their own. Phillip Lindsay found a hold in the Beaver defense on second down and went 74-yards to tie the game at 7-7 in the first quarter.
  • On the following drive, Oregon State hit a 38-yard pass from Darell Garretson to Jordan Villamin to set the Beavers up in the red zone. The Buffs defense held strong for three straight players and forced a 32-yard field goal from the Beavers.
  • After a Colorado punt, Oregon State took over on its 18-yard line. A first and second down run from Artavis Pierce set up a 41-yard pass from Garretson to Trevon Bradford to the Colorado 26-yard line. Once again, Colorado defense held the Beavers to a field goal, this time from 37 yards out to start the second quarter.
Second Quarter
  • The Beavers continued to use their run game in the second quarter. Oregon State ran the ball six times which opened a 24-yard pass from Garretson to Pierce. But the Beavers weren't able to find the end zone from the 2-yard line and settled for a 20-yard field goal to put the Beavers up nine with 5:26 left in the second half.
  • Colorado started the ensuing drive on its 27-yard line. Steven Montez hit Bryce Bobo for a 15-yard completion, the Buffs couldn't get enough yards for a first down. They went for it on fourth-and-one, where Phillip Lindsay gained four yards. Three plays later on third down, Montez hit Bobo again for 38-yards to the OSU 16-yard line. Two plays after that on a trick play, Bryce Bobo threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Steven Montez to bring the Buffs within two.
  • Following the touchdown, Oregon State drove the field to end the half with a 31-yard field goal.
Third Quarter
  • Oregon State started the second half on its 31-yard line, a 13-yard completion to Vallamin, four more completed passes from Garretson got the Beavers to the Colorado 40-yard line but on a quarterback hurry by Drew Lewis on third down forced an arrogant throw by Garretson which was intercepted by Evan Worthington and ran back to the OSU 46-yard line.
  • The Buffs took advantage of the Beavers turnover with a 9-yard touchdown run from Phillip Lindsay. The drive started with an 8-yard completion to Shay Fields followed by a 17-yard rush from Lindsay, three plays later the Buffs found the end zone to take their first lead of the game.
  • On the ensuing drive, Oregon State had a quick three-and-out and had their first punt of the game. A catcher interference penalty on the Beavers moved the ball to the Colorado 35-yard line where the Buffs took over. Colorado wasn't able to gain enough yards on third down and was forced to punt.
  • The next drive, the Beavers went six plays for 75 yards, capped off by a 13-yard touchdown run by Ryan Nall to give the Beavers the lead again with 20 seconds left in the third quarter.
Fourth Quarter
  • The Buffs started the fourth quarter with three completed passes from Steven Montez and then a Montez third down run to keep the drive alive. Seven more rushes from Montez and Phillip Lindsay got Colorado into the red zone. Three plays later on third-and-goal, Steven Montez hit Bryce Bobo for Colorado's fourth touchdown of the game from 9-yards out. The drive lasted over six minutes and consisted of 16 plays to go 88 yards. The Buffs converted on the two-point conversion.
  • After a great special teams tackle by Beau Bisharat the Beavers started their drive on their 16-yard line. A Ryan Nall, 31-yard rush started the drive off, five more Nall rushes lead to a Beavers touchdown to give OSU a four point lead.
  • After, Oregon State's touchdown, Colorado started on its 18-yard line, an 11-yard completion to Shay Fields and an 11-yard run by Steven Montez kept the Buffs drive alive, coupled with four Phillip Lindsay rushes. On first down, Montez found Bryce Bobo again for a 13-yard touchdown to put the Buffs in front of the Beavers, 36-33 with 1:34 left in the game.
  • Colorado left plenty of time left on the clock for Oregon State who had all their timeouts left. The Beavers were driving down the field but an incomplete pass on third-and-13 lead to a 52-yard field goal for OSU which came up short giving Colorado their first conference win of the season.
