Weather:

  • Tonight's weather in Pullman calls for 41 degrees at kickoff with light showers and winds at 22 mph.

Pregame
  • Phillip Lindsay needs five rushing yards for 1,000 on the season, which would be his second consecutive season hitting the 1,000-yard mark (he went over
1,000 yards last season against Washington State as well). He will become the first Buff in program history to rush for over 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons (see more on page 5). If Lindsay can get five yards on his first carry, he will hit the 1,000 yard mark on the same exact number of rushes as he did last year (179).
  • Steven Montez needs five more pass attempts without being intercepted to extend his active streak to 100 consecutive pass attempts without being picked
off. There have been eight streaks in school history where a Buff QB has thrown 100 straight passes without being intercepted.
  • Shay Fields needs one more TD catch to become the sixth Buff in program history to catch 20 or more touchdown passes in a career.
First Quarter
  • Colorado won the toss and deferred to the second half and Washington State started its drive on its 25-yard line. The Buffs defense held strong on the first drive, Luke Falk completed two passes but were unable to convert on third down after a Colorado sack giving the ball to the Buffs at their 28-yard line.
  • The Buffs had a quick three-and-out and a wobbly punt from Alex Kinney gave Washington State the ball on its 45-yard line.
  • On the first play from scrimmage on the Cougars next drive, Javier Edwards stripped Jamal Morrow and Evan Worthington recovered the fumble giving the Buffs the ball back with great field position on their 43-yard line but Colorado wasn't able to take advantage of the field position after another three-and-out.
  • After a holding penalty that pushed the Cougars back to their 10-yard line, WSU had a fast three-and-out and gave the Buffs good field position on their 49-yard line.
  • Alex Kinney pinned the Cougars deep on their 7-yard line. WSU converted on third down with a Luke Falk run, two plays later Isaiah Oliver was called for pass interference which moved the ball to the WSU 35-yard line. A holding call pushed the Cougars back on third down. Colorado's Nick Fisher almost intercepted Falk on third down and forced a punt.
  • On the WSU punt, Isaiah Oliver was hit while trying to catch the ball which lead to a penalty giving Colorado the ball on their 48-yard line to end the fist quarter.
Second Quarter
  • The Buffs converted on two fourth downs to keep the drive alive, both by Phillip Lindsay. The Buffs were unable to do anything with the ball after their fourth down conversion and on another fourth down Steven Montez scrambled but threw the ball out of bounds and gave the ball back WSU. On the same Jeromy Irwin was called for targeting was ejected from the game.
  • After the turn over on downs Luke Falk went deep for 50 yards for a Cougar touchdown to give WSU the first score of the game and the lead 7-0.
  • On the ensuing drive, Phillip Lindsay rushed for 24-yards on second down but Colorado was unable to move the ball and faced another fourth down but decided to punt. Alex Kinney punted 25-yards to the WSU 19-yard line.
  • Washington State drove 81-yards to put them up 14-0 with 4:50 left in the half.  Luke Falk completed five passes including the 18-yard touchdown strike and Jamal Morrow rushed for 19-yards during the drive.
  • After the touchdown, Steven Montez completed his first pass of the game to Devin Ross but two plays later after an 7-yard completion to Bryce Bobo the play was called back after offensive pass inference on Bobo which pushed Colorado back to its 15-yard line. Colorado found themselves with a fourth-and-24. An Alex Kinney punt put the Cougars at their 42-yard line.
  • Colorado's defense held strong on Washington State's drive as the half was winding down and on fourth down Evan Worthington deflected Luke Falk's pass to give Colorado the ball back but the Buffs weren't able to do anything before the end of the first half.
Third Quarter
  • Colorado started its first drive of the third quarter on its 25-yard line. Phillip Lindsay busted off a 13-yard run and an 18-yard run to start the drive. Sam Noyer came in at quarterback for Steven Montez to start the third quarter. A bad snap from Tim Lynott sent the Buffs back 18-yards and they weren't able to convert on third-and-28.
  • On the ensuing the drive, Washington State drove 75 yards which was capped off by a 9-yard run. Luke Falk completed fours passes and also rushed the ball twice to keep their drive alive. The Cougars went up 21-0 with 9:26 left in the third quarter.

Fourth Quarter
  • Colorado wasn't able to move the ball after the pass interference call and were forced to punt. Alex Kinney's punt was downed on the WSU 9-yard line.

Sam Noyer ripped off a 13-yard rush and then completed two passes to Bryce Bobo and Devin Ross to move the ball WSU 48-yard line. On fourth down Phillip Lindsay was stuffed, WSU took over on downs.
  • On the following drive the Cougars drove 52-yards to put the Cougars up 28-0, Luke Falk completed four passes and lead WSU down the field for a 5-yard strike to Renard Bell.
