QUOTABLE Head Coach Nicole Kenneally
Overall
"Overall, we had a pretty solid day. I think we worked really hard on our execution. I think we were focused in and committed to what we were trying to do. For Lou to come back after being down a set, hang in there and to have the right frame of mind and keep giving herself opportunities was great to see. I am really proud of her."
On Chloe Hule
"Chloe was in it the whole way and had a few ups and downs and could have pulled away in some games, but didn't. She stayed in there to close it out which, I think is huge. Tennis is funny. You are not just playing your opponent on the other side of the court. Sometimes your biggest opponent can be yourself. I think we are taking the right steps towards not allowing ourselves to be our biggest competitor out on the court, and that is a big step for any tennis player. The quicker you make that steps the quicker you can make strides in your game."
On the Overall Tournament
"This tournament is a great one, there are a ton of different schools here. Several schools that we do play and a few we haven't really seen that much of. So, it is really nice to go up against different opponents. Tomorrow we have matchups against both Air Force and Utah, but we are going to treat those just like any regular match we play. We came here to play and are competing hard and we will continue to strive for our best. I think that is important."
On Doubles
With doubles, it was good for Kyra and Lou to get the win this morning as it was one of the first times playing with each other. Good to see them out on the court competing hard. We look forward to tomorrow and hopefully have an even better day than we did today."
