6-7 defensive end Terrance Lang from Pomona, Calif. signs with Buffs

BOULDER – University of Colorado head coach Mike MacIntyre announced Saturday that defensive end Terrance Lang signed a National Letter of Intent to attend school and play football for the Buffaloes.

Lang, a 6-7, 265-pound prospect from Pomona, Calif. (Maranatha High School), was rated as No. 3 athlete in California by Scout.com. He joins the 18 other student-athletes who signed National Letters of Intent back on Wednesday's National Signing Day.

"We are really excited about Terrance coming to the University of Colorado," MacIntyre said. "He is a big, explosive athlete who will be a force on the defensive line."

Lang is the sixth defensive lineman in the 2017 recruiting class, and the tallest of them all.

"I'm super excited about coming to Boulder," Lang said late Friday night after leading his high school basketball team to a 66-56 win over Valley Christian. "I really liked the family environment, everything with the coaches from coach (Darian) Hagan to coach MacIntyre and the players, it just felt like the right fit. Colorado has a beautiful campus and all of the surrounding area as well."

He was a two-sport start at Maranatha High School, and his senior season in football drew first-team All-League honors playing for coach Steve Bogan. In eight games, missing two due to injury, he recorded 40 tackles and 15 sacks for the Minutemen.

Rivals.com rated him as a top 35 prospect at his position in the class of 2017.

On the basketball court, he averaged 15.0 points and 7.5 rebounds per game as a senior when he garnered second-team All-Area honors from the Pasadena Star-News.
