CU To Participate In NSCAA Open Training Week On April 5

BOULDER - Colorado's women's soccer team will participate in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America's Open Training Week on Wednesday, April 5. The training session will begin at 11:30 a.m. at Prentup Field.

The NSCAA's Open Training Week is an opportunity for local youth and high school coaches to attend practices at colleges and universities across the country and learn new ideas for training and schemes in a new environment. CU will be one of over 200 institutions participating in this year's event.

"We are looking forward to getting the local soccer community out to our training session on Wednesday, April 5," head coach Danny Sanchez said. "We will also being doing a Q&A after the [training] session. Coaches from all levels are invited and we are hoping for a big turnout."

Sanchez is entering his sixth season in 2017 as head coach at Colorado. He has a record of 58-38-11 (.593) in Boulder and has led the Buffs to the NCAA Tournament three times in his five years with the team. Prior to CU, Sanchez was head coach at Wyoming for four years and Metro State in Denver for six seasons, where led the Roadrunners to two NCAA Division II national championships.

CU is coming off one of its best seasons ever after posting a 15-6-1 record and finishing tied for second in the Pac-12 with national champion Southern California. The Buffs reached the second round of the NCAA Tournament before being eliminated on a late penalty kick in a 1-0 loss at third-ranked South Carolina.

2. Get To US-36 & Colorado Avenue.
3. Head east onto Colorado Avenue (access to Colorado Avenue is from the frontage road if coming from the south).
4. Turn left on 33rd Street (first left AFTER the light at 30th Street).
5. Turn right into the parking lot servicing Prentup.
