Get To Know: Gabby Carta-Samuels

BOULDER – The next Buff in our 'Get To Know' series is Gabby Carta-Samuels, a defensive specialist from Saratoga, Calif. She will be a junior in the fall.
1. What is your favorite volleyball memory and why?
Winning back to back state championships and being ranked number one in the nation in high school because we accomplished everything we possibly could and that's a great feeling.
2. Who is someone you look up to the most and why?
My brother, Austyn. He has accomplished all of his dreams so far and remained an amazing person.
3. Name a place you've always wanted to go to but never have been.
Space
4. Why did you choose to become a Colorado Buffalo?
I chose to be a Buff because it had everything I was looking for and provided me the opportunity to do what I love.
5. What is your favorite TV show?
Friday Night Lights
6. Where do you see yourself in five years from now?
Finishing up school and on my way to being a psychologist.
7. If you had to be stranded on a deserted island with one person who would you want that one person to be?
My best friend, Allison.
8. Do you have any hidden talents?
Jos and I have some pretty impressive singing sessions.
9. Did you play in any other sports growing up or in high school?
I played every sport growing up.
10. How many pairs of shoes do you currently own?
Too many or not enough depending on who you ask.
11. Who is your best friend and how did you meet?
My dad.
12. What is your favorite part about being at the University of Colorado?
My favorite part about being at the University of Colorado is getting to do what I love with a lot of people that I love.
13. Name one celebrity you would like to meet and why?
J. Cole because he has such a beautiful mentality on life.
