Saturday Pac-12 Golf Championships Snowed Out

Teams Gunning For Shortened 54-Hole Event To Conclude Sunday
BOULDER — Saturday's scheduled competition in the 58th annual Pac-12 Men's Golf Championships – the completion of the second round and the entire third round – was cancelled due to overnight snow making the conditions at Boulder Country Club unplayable.
Play had been suspended due to darkness on Friday with 12 players still on the course. They were set to finish their round Saturday morning ahead of the start of the third round, but that never materialized after up to five inches of snow fell in the northeast Boulder area. Some of it melted off during the day when the sun came out, but with overnight temperatures dipping into the mid-20s and not warming much above 30 during the day, the snow was slow to disappear.
Tournament officials and BCC staff met throughout Saturday with an eye on Sunday's forecast, and the goal is to complete 54 holes (thus shortening from the scheduled 72). The earliest start for the completion of the second round will be 10 a.m. MDT, with the third round to follow (with a shotgun start). The starting time is fluid depending on the course conditions, but the forecast is calling for a break in the precipitation and temperatures to climb into the low 50s.
For the championship to be official, at least 36 holes must be completed. The University of Colorado is serving as the host of the event.
