Buffs Wrap Up IU Invitational 8-4 in Singles, 4-9 in Doubles

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Indiana Winter Invitational wrapped up Monday for all seven participating teams, including Indiana, Colorado, Abilene Christian, Mississippi State, DePaul, Wright State and Marquette, with two more rounds of doubles play at the IU Tennis Center at the University of Indiana in Bloomington.
The Buffs continued to struggle in doubles play, going 1-3 in their final matches. The doubles pairing of junior Brigitte Beck and sophomore Chloe Hule fell to Indiana's Natalie Whalen and Michelle McKamey, 6-3, but rebounded later to defeat Wright State's Karoline Haller and Anna Jones, 6-2.
Senior Louise Ronaldson, senior Kyra Wojcik, Beck and Hule all went undefeated in singles play over the weekend, with Beck's wins coming in straight sets.
The Buffs open the dual-match season on Saturday at home against Colorado State with first serve scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Rocky Mountain Tennis Center in Boulder.

"We played a lot of solid matches this weekend," head coach Nicole Kenneally said. "And we are at a good spot. So now we have a few days to recover, adjust a few things on court and get ready for our very important match vs CSU next Saturday."
