October 09, 2018 | Soccer
The senior earned national and conference Player of the Week awards
SAN FRANCISCO—University of Colorado forward Jorian Baucom was a key part in keeping the Buffaloes' 14-game unbeaten streak alive last week. She totaled three goals in Colorado's wins over then No. 7 Washington State and Washington, helping her to two Player of the Week honors.
Â
The senior from Scottsdale, Ariz., was named Top Drawer Soccer's National Player of the Week along with earning the Pac-12 Conference's Offensive Player of the Week. It is the first time she has won either award. Overall, it is the 20th weekly conference honor for Colorado.
Â
Baucom scored two goals on four shots on goal in the Buffs' 2-0 weekend. She recorded Colorado's second goal of the game against Washington State on Thursday. The goal proved to be the game-winner as the Buffs handed WSU its first loss of the season, 3-1. Baucom scored both of CU's goals on Sunday, propelling Colorado to a 2-1 win over Washington in double-overtime.
Â
Baucom's three goals improved her season total to 11, tying Tatum Barton for ninth in the NCAA. She is the second-fastest Buff to get to 11 goals, doing so in 14 games. Baucom is seventh in the nation with a team-high 27 points this season, placing herself third on the all-time single-season point list. She has scored six goals in Pac-12 play, including two multi-goal games against Oregon State and Washington. She is now ranked fourth on Colorado's all-time Pac-12 goal scoring list in just her first season of action with the Buffs. Â
Â
The transfer from LSU now has 44 career goals and 100 career points, ranking third among active DI players in both categories.
Colorado closes out its three-game homestand when it takes on Oregon this Saturday (1 p.m. MT) at Prentup Field.Â
