10 Buffs Named To All-Region Team

NEW ORLEANS – The University of Colorado placed 10 athletes on USTFCCCA All-Mountain Region team, which is tied for the second most selections this year.

Athletes who finished in the top-25 in each of the nine regional championships are selected to the teams. Arkansas placed a total of 14 (seven men and seven women) on the teams, while CU tied with Mississippi, Villanova, BYU and NC State with 10 honorees.

Junior Joe Klecker won the men's race to record his second straight regional title, as well as his third consecutive all-region award. He was joined by three of his teammates: Ryan Forsyth (10th), John Dressel (12th) and Eduardo Herrera (22nd).

On the women's side, the Buffs had six record the honor. Dani Jones led the women's team with a sixth-place finish and was followed by Makena Morley (seventh), Tabor Scholl (eighth), Val Constien (14th), Tayler Tuttle (18th) and Mackenzie Caldwell (19th).

The USTFCCCA also released the final national poll of the season, which had the CU women ranked third and the men eighth.

The CU women placed second at regionals, while the men were third. Both teams earned a trip to the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday, Nov. 17, in Madison, Wis. The women's 6k race is slated for a 9:45 a.m. MT start, while the men will run a 10k at 10:45 a.m. Â
