#NFLBuffs: Lindsay Becomes Broncos' All-Time Undrafted Rookie Rushing Leader

November 28, 2018 | Football

Eight former University of Colorado football players took the field for NFL teams in Week 12, with Phillip Lindsay again headlining this week's performances. You can vote for him and the six other NFL Buffs on the Pro Bowl ballot here.

Weekly Spotlight

Broncos' running back Phillip Lindsay had a career day in a 24-17 win over the Steelers, rushing for a career-high 110 yards on 14 carries and scoring the game's decisive touchdown. He broke four runs of 12 yards or more, including a 32-yarder on which he was clocked at 22.36 mph (NFL Next Gen Stats), the fastest speed of any ball carrier in the league this season. Lindsay is up for NFL Rookie of the Week honors for the fifth time, joining No. 1 pick Baker Mayfield and No. 2 pick Saquon Barkley as the only players to be nominated for Rookie of the Week five times this season.

With 110 yards on Sunday, he became the franchise leader in rushing yards among undrafted rookies with 780. Lindsay now sits just 324 yards shy of the NFL rushing record for undrafted rookies (1,104 – Dominic Rhodes, 2001) with five games remaining.
